The propose for this Lab was to show us how to create a professional looking map, locate commonly used tools and reference GIS metadata within the ArcGIS Software. As well as showing us how to understand the difference between relative and absolute paths in map files.
I was able to own my map by selecting unique and purposeful cartographic choices. I chose a layout that was easy to understand and pleasing to the eyes where I didn’t have objects overburdening other objects. I choose to simplify my map to only key points that were required to portray my message of the UWF campus location. I made a clear indication to where the campus was located in comparison to the state of Florida and its interstate routes. Finally, I gave the Map a Title, Legend, North Arrow, Scale and Cartography details all in a non-overbearing size and location.
