AWS to launch Space accelerator program for startups


Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that it is going to launch a Space accelerator program for startups. AWS is teaming up with Seraphim Capital, the UK-based venture investment firm, to select 10 startups.

The 10 startups will undergo a four-week monitoring program, modelled after Seraphim’s “Space camp” accelerator. Applications for the Space accelerator program is due in April 2021.

Sandy Carter, Vice President for AWS worldwide public sector, wrote, “AWS and Seraphim will select a cohort of Space startups to participate in an intensive, four-week program with AWS cloud and technical training to help them accelerate research, development and growth. Startups at all stages of maturity working with Space technology or Space data are eligible to apply.”

According to AWS blog post, selection criteria include: the innovative and unique nature of the project, the overall value the solution will bring to the industry, the creative application of AWS to solve problems and the team’s ability to deliver on an identified opportunity.

AWS activate provides startups with a host of benefits, including AWS credits, AWS support plan credits and training to help grow your business. Activate benefits are designed to give you the right mix of tools and expert support so you can succeed with AWS while optimizing performance, managing risk and keeping costs under control.

It reads that startups at all stages of maturity working with Space technology or Space data are eligible to apply.
